The most professional printing technique
OFFSET PRINTING
MAXIMUM PRINT QUALITY
Offset technology is the quintessence of printing and graphic arts
Offset printing uses an indirect printing technique: transferring the image onto the paper from rolls resembling a seal, colour by colour: Cyan (C), Magenta (M), Yellow (Y), Black (B) + Special colours + UV lacquers.
This is why the quality of Offset printing is much higher than that of digital, given that it prints at 7200 dpi, which becomes very obvious when printing large areas of colour (100% full), and allows to print flat inks (Pantone, Gold, Silver) guaranteeing consistent and long-lasting printing quality.
ADVANTAGES OF OFFSET PRINTING
Why choose offset printing, instead of digital printing?
The best unit price. A run of thousands of units would be much cheaper using offset than if digital were used (cents per copy); in fact, the more quantity of copies, the lower the unit price in offset. But, to begin with there will be certain minimum fixed costs (layouts, etc.), but these are rapidly made up for when printing large quantities.
Maximum quality printing. Forget about banding and the unevenness of digital printing! The printing quality of offset is amazing!
Pantones and special inks. Offset printing allows to control the pantones (exact colour), use special inks such as gold and silver, apply varnishes, etc.
As a counterpart, offset printing is not appropriate for printing small quantities, urgent printing or for printing variable data.
If this is what you need, choose digital printing.
INITIAL MACHINE COSTS
Obviously, offset printing has its disadvantages...
The main problem of offset printing is the initial costs.. Offset printing requires enormous machines, which are exceedingly expensive... Starting up these machines and adjusting the colour takes time, which is reflected in the significant initial cost, what is known as the "entry into machine cost". This is added to the cost for making the plates, one for each colour... All of these expenses seem less when printing a large quantity, but can be a problem for a small run.
WHEN IS IT WORTHWHILE TO PRINT IN OFFSET?
Ask us and we will tell you whether it is worth printing your project in offset
Offset provides higher quality printing and professional finishes.
If you want your original printed on high weight paper (250 gram, 300 gram...), if you want a specific pantone, or special ink (metallic, gold, silver, etc.), if you want an embossed finish, customised cuts, or anything like that, then you need offset printing.
Offset technology requires making printing plates, hence the initial expenses are higher. This also makes for longer delivery periods, given that the inks must be allowed to dry, etc.
In turn, with offset printing you will have important discounts for large quantities, i.e. the price per card drops dramatically as the number of copies printed increases.
As of 1,000 flyers (which would correspond to 1,000 diptychs, 3,000 flyers, 10,000 cards, etc.), clients will normally choose offset.
